    Where
M.Judson Booksellers & Storytellers 130 South Main Street, Greenville, SC [ Map ]
    Description
We're excited to host Georgia novelist Patti Callahan Henry and The Bookshop at Water's End. This story is told from the perspective of lifelong friends Bonny and Lainey, returning to their childhood summer retreat on a South Carolina river in order to see their way clear of present troubles. Filled with warmth and drama, secrets long-held finally revealed, this book will appeal to readers of Karen White and Kristen Hannah. And we are super excited to have talked Teryi Youngblood out of retirement! Way back when, she was the chef for our very first Sit Down Sunday Supper with Pat Conroy, which was an unforgettable evening. She'll be crafting a menu that reflects this time and place all over again—and bless her—there will be pound cake.

Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium 385 North Church Street Spartanburg, South Carolina 29303 [ Map ]
    Description
There was a time when the world was full of magic and splendor, and all on Earth existed in harmony with Heaven. You could see it in the arts, feel it in the air, and hear it in the beat of a drum. This was a land of heroes and sages, dragons and phoenixes, emperors and immortals. Known today as China, this place was once called "the Land of the Divine."

What if you could journey back and visit this lost paradise?

Shen Yun brings the profound spirit of this lost civilization to life on stage with unrivaled artistic mastery. Every dance movement, every musical note, makes this a stunning visual and emotional experience you won't find anywhere else. Banned in communist China today, the non-profit Shen Yun is dedicated to reviving 5,000 years of divinely inspired civilization.

Experience the Arts Connecting Heaven & Earth! See for yourself why Shen Yun is leaving millions around the world in awe.

Though generally more widely recognized for their roles as pests, carriers of disease, and just plain nuisances, insects play extremely important beneficial roles, too, as pollinators in agricultural systems, and as key players in natural ecosystems. In this lecture we'll get to know some of these beneficial insects, from bees to butterflies to beetles, a little better, and discuss challenges and strategies for their conservation. Our guest speaker is Dr. Michael Caterino, John and Suzanne Morse Chair of Arthropod Biodiversity and Director, Clemson University Arthropod Collection If possible, pre-register. www.Greenvillezoo.com/lecture.
