A Smithsonian Exhibit: The Way We Worked

    Where
    307 Johnson Streeet, Pickens [ Map ]
    Description
This is a very preliminary post to say this exhbit is scheduled to open here at the museum on May 6, 2017 and remain until June 18, 2017. The exhibit will be shown in our Focus Gallery. Come hear guest speakers talking about the CCC, textile mills and modern technology in the 21st centory.

From the Smithsonian website- "The Way We Worked, adapted from an original exhibition developed by the National Archives, explores how work became such a central element in American culture by tracing the many changes that affected the workforce and work environments over the past 150 years. The exhibition draws from the Archives' rich collections to tell this compelling story." This statement encapsulates the focus of the exhibit for more information, see http://www.museumonmainstreet.org

We will also assemble a small companion exhibit comprised of artifacts that we have here in the museum collection, to be shown in the LaVonna Nalley Piper Auditorium located next to our Focus Gallery.
