    CREATEng Summer Camp: Greenwood

    Description
    CREATEng is GSSM's one-of-a-kind engineering and design thinking day camp for rising 8th and 9th graders. Working through project-based, hands-on team challenges, students learn what engineering is and what engineers do. With a focus on manufacturing and biomedical engineering, student teams will be challenged to design blades and gears for a wind turbine, solder and build optical heart-rate monitors, and print 3-D prototypes of manufacturing or medical solutions for testing.

    CREATEng students will interact with guest speakers and go on a field trip to a local company to see engineering in action.

    $250 per student
    $225 Early Bird Rate if paid with application by April 10
    Cost includes materials, field trip, lunches and snacks

    Pack a lunch and join us at the Center for Developmental Services on March 9 from 12 - 1 to learn more about services available for individuals with disabilities in Greenville County and to network with others who want to make Greenville a better place to live for individuals with disabilities.

    Touch the Future
    Touch the Future Inc. is a 501(c) 3, nonprofit organization providing individuals who are disabled, seniors, disabled Veterans, or from disadvantaged communities with computer, durable medical equipment, and assistive technology services and devices. Touch the Future supports other nonprofit organizations and educational programs and provides communities, entrepreneurs, and businesses opportunities for accessible and inclusive communication, conferences, events and services. In addition, we offer comprehensive assessment, consulting and training services including but not limited to ADA and accessibility consulting, Life Planning, and continuing education opportunities. Touch the Future is a Paralympic Sports Club and home to many specialized programs and services. We are ALINK to independent living and Touch the Future of lives each day.
    Center for Disability Resources
    The Center for Disability Resources (CDR) is one of 67 University Centers for Excellence in developmental disabilities education, research and service, located in major universities throughout the U.S. We function as a bridge to connect the knowledge, expertise and resources of the university to persons with disabilities and the service delivery systems of the community.
    Our mission is to enhance the well-being and quality of life of persons with disabilities and their families. We collaborate with persons with disabilities and their families to develop new knowledge and best practices, train leaders, and effect systems change.

    OPEN HOUSE with Co-op member and stained glass artist Vaunda Browning featured at this month's Second Friday.
    For the past 20 years, Vaunda has playfully and dramatically expanded her expertise in this unique medium. Enjoy wine, soft drinks, and light refreshments as you learn about how Vaunda creates works of fluidity, movement and warmth from delicate sheets of glass.
    Art Gallery on Pendleton Square is a Co-op of 22 local artists. Works include jewelry, ceramics, pottery, wooden bowls, furniture, fiber art, paintings, stained glass mosaics, mixed media, photography and sculpture.
