There is a crispness in the air that invites thoughts of pumpkin spices, scarves and, of course, fall festivals. The Upstate is replete with options for those who want to embrace the festival season and enjoy arts and crafts, live music, local heritage, fresh home-baked goods, and other festival fare.

The South Carolina Apple Festival celebrates a favorite fall crop. It will be held in Westminster from Monday, September 7 through Sunday, September 12. The family-friendly event features arts and crafts, live music, and antiques. The highlight of the event is the annual Apple Festival Parade, which will be held at 4:30 p.m. Friday, September 11.

Homesteading Festival—Held at Mineral Spring Park in Williamston on Saturday, September 12, from 8:30–4, the Homesteading Festival features camping, live music, and a bonfire.  See demonstrations in traditional skills such as blacksmithing, chair caning, and sheep milking. “Informal jams” of bluegrass music will be organized throughout the park for the event and musicians of all ages and skill levels are encouraged to participate.

Inman Harvest Day Festival—The Inman Harvest Day Festival, organized by the Greater Inman Area Chamber of Commerce, will be held Saturday, September 26th from 9–5 and will feature crafts, sidewalk sales, food vendors, activities for children, and live entertainment.
